Garda Vetting Procedure


Under the National Vetting Bureau ( Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012 those who come into contact with children and/or vulnerable adults during the course of their work or activities must undergo Garda Vetting.

The ERF Garda Vetting services is one of the key services provided to our members and the private and public healthcare sector. We are one of the top five providers of this service in the country, processing over 40,000 applications annually.

Steps

Step 1: NVB#1 FormThe vetting subject manually completes and signs the NVB#1 form and forwards to the Agency / Organisation together with photo ID and proof of address
Step 2: Batch HeaderAgency / Organisation validates the applicants proof of identity and sends the 6 points of information received on the NVB#1 form to the ERF on a Batch Header. An e-mail with a link attached inviting him/her to complete a Vetting Application Form is generated by the ERF via the portal to the applicant
Step 3: InvitationThe vetting subject completes a Vetting Application Form online and submits it to the ERF
Step 4: ReviewThe ERF reviews the Vetting Application Form and submits it to the National Vetting Bureau
Step 5: VettingThe National Vetting Bureau processes the application and forwards a vetting disclosure to the ERF
Step 6: DisclosureThe ERF receives the disclosure and as soon as is practicable, forwards the disclosure to the appointed liaison person in the Agency / Organisation
